The original 78 record of "Chattanooga Choo Choo" was performed by Glenn Miller and His Orchestra, with vocals by Tex Beneke and The Modernaires, along with Paula Kelly. It was Released May 7, 1941, it became a major hit. Later that year it was famously featured in the movie Sun Valley Serenade (Aug 21st) which had started filming months earlier by Darryl Zanuck who had come up with the idea for the film while on vacation there. Oh, this writer arrived on the scene just months later and was baptized on "A Day of Infamy".
