Doo Wop is the music I grew up with, along with Rock & Roll of course. That was around the time the 78 record was morphing to the 45. Sadly stereophonic recording wasn't around in Rock's and Doo Wop early days and video was two generations away.

In the 90's, TJ Lubinsky began rounding up those early Doo Wop groups to perform once again those great hits of the past for a show on PBS. Here we feature in the 1st VIDEO an early 50's group from NYC group called the Channels. This video is especially unique as it was shot during their practice session. It features two songs; That's My Desire and my all time Favorite, which I purchased on a 78 for 79 cents, The Closer You Are.

Doo Wop fans will remember there was one Doo Wop ballad that was recorded by five, yes five groups! All are featured on the 2nd VIDEO. They are in order; Earl Lewis and the Channels, Jimmy Gallaghar and the Passions, Veto & the Salutations, Earl Carroll and the Cadillacs and Bobby Robinson and the Willows. All are from NYC's five boroughs.

Lastly, I used my name for one of my first web pages, SandyEstabrook.com. Its all Doo Wop.
